As May unfolds in a typically chilly UK manner, Quantum Progression Audio offers up three razor sharp and moody, future jungle cuts from Redshift with his brand new 'Psynapse EP'.
The EP starts off in a dancehall style with the bassbin bothering 'Handsworth'. Which incorporates a monster, rising and falling bassline with a hard-hitting breakbeats and a killer, warped dubstep bass pattern, all accompanied by classic ragga-jungle chatting.
'Kaned', (my pick of the bunch) combines a rolling DJ Mink 'Hey! Hey! Can You Relate?' break with an enveloping bass, warped effects and seriously dark 'Anasthasia' stabs. If anyone wants to sub categorise a future-darkcore genre then 'Citizen Kaned' would be a perfect selection to exemplify that style.

'Eastwood (Fire & Napalm)', which closes the trio, takes you on yet another trip to the darkside, future junglistic style with an ominous, atmospheric intro that sounds like it came straight out of a 1993 jungle-tekno classic (Chaos & Julia Set springs to mind!). That is until the bass heavy, sci-fi stabs drop alongside heavyweight, stepping drumbreaks to create a perfect blend of past and future beats.
All in all. the 'Psynapse EP' is guaranteed to bring you future beats for any discerning lover of serious, headstrong breaks and bass.
